John Martinetti graduated with the Highest of Honors: “Suma Cum Laude” from C. W. Post, Long Island University with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Speech and Hearing In 1976. He has earned two Masters Degrees: Speech-Language Pathology in 1978 and Audiology in 1983.

Dr. Martinetti earned his Doctoral Degree in Audiology from Salus University in 2001. Dr. Martinetti is “Board Certified in Audiology” . Board Certification in Audiology requires that Dr. Martinetti obtain a minimum of 65 continuing educational credits every 3 years

Dr. Marinetti is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and holds dual certifications: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in both Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Dr. Martinetti was Coordinator of the Educational Committee for the Hearing Care Group. This prestigious group of 35 individual private audiology practices provides continuing educational seminars for audiologists in the Tri-State area.

Dr Martinetti is a humanitarian audiologist and he established the first Newborn Hearing Screening Program in Belize City, Belize, Central America. Funding for this program was established by Dr. Martinetti and it was also funded by The John and Helen Martinetti Hearing Foundation

Michelle Shortle has been working in our office for 18 years. A mother of a severely hearing impaired child, Michelle knows first hand the challenges that one faces with hearing loss. Michelle will assist you in all ways possible with your insurance requirements and reimbursements. Michelle will make sure all of your hearing aid orders, repairs, ear molds and assistive listening devices are available to you in a timely manner. She will also contact your doctors to assist in obtaining all information for your scheduled appointment.

Valerie will greet and assist you in scheduling your appointments, check you in, answer insurance questions, and assist you with your hearing aid repairs and orders. She will assist you in any way possible to obtain required information for your office visit. Valerie will do small repairs.

Suraya joined Port Jefferson Hearing in December 2014. Suraya is responsible for answering the phone, scheduling, and confirming appointments. She will greet you with a smile and try her best to answer any questions.
